Champion in Action is Celebrating 10 Years

When you check the Citizens Bank Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/#!/citizensbank each Thursday you will find "Checking on Champions," a review of past Champion in Action recipients. "This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Champions in Action program. "During the past decade, Citizens Financial Group and their media partners have honored 253 nonprofit organizations, awarded more than $6.5 million in grants, and provided promotional and volunteer support," according to Leslie Donnell, Citizens spokesperson. ElderNet was recognized in 2007 by Citizens Bank with their annual Champion in Action Award! "Neighbors helping Neighbors is what ElderNet is all about," the spokesperson said. "Services provided by community volunteers allow them to succeed in their mission to help older and disabled people live independently in their own homes."
The Award means that ElderNet received gererous financial support from Citizens Bank Foundation, and media support from NBC 10, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and The Philadelphia Daily News. Additional Volunteer support comes to ElderNet from these organizations and others through Greater Philadelphia Cares.
